This 7 day multi-sport trip is for active adventure travelers, ages 16 years and up. From high above the clouds at over 14,000’ elevation all the way to the warm tropical sandy beach coastline of the Gulf of México . . . on this vacation trip, you will see and experience the huge geographic diversity that the Mexican state of Veracruz has to offer. You will enjoy many of its outdoor natural resources . . . churning whitewater rapids, dense green tropical jungle, magnificent vistas, ocean beaches, a snowcapped mountain, and much more. Some of the activities you will participate in include whitewater river rafting, ziplining, rappelling, riding an ATV over tall sand dunes, sandboarding, downhill mountain biking, and snorkeling over coral reefs.

Day 1: Arrive in the city of Veracruz
Your bilingual trip guide will be waiting for you upon your arrival at the Veracruz Airport. Depending on the time of your arrival, you may be able to explore some of the city or just rest up from your travels and get ready for the following days of adventures. Overnight at a hotel in the city.
Day 2: Canyon Hike / Waterfall Rappel (B,L)

In the early morning, you will begin your outdoor adventures by traveling to the higher elevations found in western Veracruz. There you will meet up with your canyoneering guides who will lead your group on a rigorous hike down a trail into a rugged canyon to begin a series of rappels down multiple waterfalls. Plan to get wet. Along the way, you will stop to rest and enjoy a boxed lunch. After completing the rappelling segment of this trip, everyone will then start the hike up and out of the canyon. Next, you will travel an hour to the old cobbled street town of Coscomatepec (elevation 4,500 feet) where you will overnight in a comfortable hotel.
Day 3: Travel to the base camp of Pico de Orizaba / High Altitude Hike / Bike down 10,000 feet (B,L)

Today, you will awake early (breakfast will be eaten in the vehicle on the way up) to experience a rugged 4-wheel drive adventure trip up an unpaved rocky/sandy trail road to the base camp of the 3rd tallest mountain in North America. This camp for climbers is located at 14,500 feet where you will find yourself above the clouds. Your mountain guide will lead you on a short high altitude hike up the trail that starts toward the summit. After a “field lunch,” you will bike down the mountain road. You can begin your descent from the climbers’ base camp or start further down the mountain where the trail road is not as rough. A dual suspension mountain bike, helmet, and gloves will be provided. Everyone then returns to overnight again at the same hotel.
Day 4: Whitewater River Rafting / Zipline Ride (B,L)

This morning you will check out of the hotel and venture to the river rafting capital of Veracruz found in the town of Jalcomulco. After a river safety talk, everyone will embark on an exciting whitewater river rafting trip (class 2-3 rapids). You will also have the thrill of flying over the river on a high speed zipline ride. Next, everyone will travel to the seaside village of Playa Chachalacas where you will overnight in a small clean and comfortable hotel.
Day 5: ATV Beach & Sand Dunes Ride / Sandboard Surfing / Beach Time (B,L,D)

Today you will get your adrenaline going with an awesome ATV ride. You will be riding alongside the ocean waves as you zoom full-throttle down the beach before heading up into a maze of tall sand dunes. No prior experience is necessary as you will quickly learn how to operate your 4-wheel ATV. Then it will be your chance to experience sand surfing down the steep slopes of the dunes on a sand board. Later, you will have lunch at a small restaurant on the beach and then there will be time to hang out on the beach, swim in the ocean, and relax. Overnight again in Playa Chachalacas.
Day 6: Snorkel or *SCUBA Dive over Coral Reefs/Veracruz City Tour / Farewell Dinner (B,L,D)

After breakfast, you will check out and travel back to the city of Veracruz where you will meet your team of certified dive professionals. They will take you out on a dive boat to snorkel (or *SCUBA dive) over the beautiful coral reefs which are found just minutes from the shoreline. A large variety of underwater wildlife life can be found among the 23 coral reefs and 350 ship wrecks which comprise the government protected Veracruz Coral Reef System National Park. In the afternoon, your trip guide will lead you on a city tour of Veracruz. In the evening, there will be a farewell dinner to celebrate all the fun experiences you had with your fellow adventurers and your guide in Veracruz. Overnight in a hotel in the city of Veracruz. * Both SCUBA divers and snorkelers will be on the same boat. Snorkeling is included in the trip fee. For an additional fee, you can sign up to do a 2 tank dive. Included in this fee is the equipment rental for all the necessary dive gear, including a wetsuit. You must bring your diver’s card to show proof of certification.
Day 7: Travel Day Home

SCUBA Diving: You can SCUBA dive (2 tanks) instead of snorkel on day 6. You must be a certified diver. Add $75 /adult
