Hotel Colonial
-
in the colonial city of Puebla (3-Star Rated) Recognized
as a National Historical Monument because of its
magnificent colonial architecture, Hotel Colonial is
located one block from the Zocalo (main square) in the
heart of the city of Puebla found in the Mexican state of
Puebla. The building was constructed in the mid 17th
century and served as a Jesuit monastery until the end of
the 18th century. After that, is was turned into a place
of rest for travellers journeying back and forth from
Mexico city (2 hours away) and the city of Puebla. In the
present day hotel, you will find a unique collection of
Spanish portraits and artwork throughout. It also still
has one of the oldest operating elevators in the country,
built in 1890. Each spacious room is equipped with a
phone, cable TV, digital safe box, and modern bathroom
with shower. There is no air conditioning in the rooms.
The wide hotel walls have a natural thermal insulation
which helps keep each room cool.

- overlooks the town of Coscomatepec. Staying at Rancho Santa Barbara is more like
staying at someone's huge home with lots of bedrooms.
(Christopher) Wade Hurst, his wife Rocio, and their 2 young
children, will be your hosts as you relax in their
23,000 square foot home. The 2nd floor
has eight deluxe rooms each with its own Jacuzzi and
balcony with beautiful views of the
surrounding countryside. Rancho Santa
Barbara Resort is found at 5,000' above sea level and in the
distance, you can marvel at the tall snow-covered 18,400'
mountain called, Pico de Orizaba. Within the Hurst family
complex is a huge salon or Great Room with big stuffy
chairs and couches to curl up in. Floor-to-ceiling glass
windows accentuate the panoramic views. |

Hotel Posada Koniapan
- Catemaco (3-Star Rated) From the second floor rooms of
this quaint hotel, you can sit out on the small balcony
and get a good view of Lake Catemaco. The grounds of Hotel
Posada Koniapan are immaculately kept with beautiful
tropical trees and flowers. There is a small swimming pool
and lounge chairs for relaxing in the tropical sun. They
also have an outdoor restaurant that serves breakfast. The
rooms have air conditioning, a TV, and the 2nd floor rooms

Carrizal (3-Star Rated) Located next to the Rio Pescados,
Hotel Veraventura is unique because of its thermal pools.
These man-made pools of natural hot water can really
soothe the body and release the stress that comes with
daily life. There is also a swimming pool of clear, cool
water complete with a dragon-style slide. However, this
pool is only open during their busier periods (when the
kids are out of school and sometimes on weekends in other
parts of the year). This 52 room hotel has air conditioned
rooms, TV, a restaurant/bar, and a recreational area with
a ping pong and pool table. |
